How To Read A Book

Personal Use + Volunteer Work |  2021

As part of my volunteer work at SABIA, I had to come up with a set of illustrations that revolved around reading. That's when we came across Meera Ganapathi Ayappa's beautifully written article on How to Read a book. It has a set of 21 tips/advice on how one should read a book and as a book lover myself, it was quite relatable.

I had never worked on proper human-centric illustrations before and this felt like the right time and opportunity to explore that. I started the process by looking through references on how to draw human hands and feet and faces and came up with a very minimalistic approach towards drawing humans. The colour palette consisted of a subtle pastel shade and the end result had a sketchy look and feel to it.
